Heah Johnno, are you on afm or bfm? Have you ever considered doing a mock up video of logbook entries?
I have been running on BFM for about 10 years I think. Instead of me making a video I encourage people to use Logbook Checker which is great. You can't make a mistake using that. We have Electronic Work Diaries in this company so that when better.
Hey brother, shut your window driving south from the gutter with your window down a bit it’s is droning sounds alright in the truck but on the speaker it’s droning shut your window
The windows was open but I wasn't using my good mike. I won't do that again. From now I'll just use the good microphones.
Hey as this is new ish ;was when the thick book came out; was Finemore and toll & Linfox were on the the bored of guv. So they had crappy trucks & had trouble getting & keeping drivers: then got guv to bring in all the curries & turbans with families to drive then and we didn’t like it and everyone else excepted it and as the Cops in-forced that we were stuck with it & that’s Y . The speed limit was knocked back to a dollar2 where we used to do a dollar six or more . Even up to $10 down hill now we get dun & companies to; so only good thing about that.. keep the sunny side up & keep on the brake top. Thx Ashton Ausy driving for 20 years
That's very good
That’s the gate way bridge. I would to to market run’s Brisbane to Sydney & back thx buddy
Very good. Thanks Arthur
Hey John! Just stumbled on your channel and loving it! Trucking in Australia looks wild - gotta be some of the craziest drivers on the planet out there! (Maybe that's why your channel is so captivating?) Anyway, on that note - I'm actually from Peru and always dreamt of moving to Australia to become a trucker myself. Wondering if you have any advice on how to get started - licensing, training, the whole shebang? Any tips for a future Aussie trucker from down under (well, way down under!) Thanks a bunch, and keep up the awesome content! Best from Peru!!!
Awesome and thanks for stopping by. Unfortunately I don't know how you can get a visa to come and work in Australia. There are so many Indians here so it can't be too hard. Once you're here you can apply for a job after getting the right licence.
wowowoowwooowww
Very good
hey love your videos can you share a best route from burra to port augsta for B Triple
Burra, Hallett, Jamestown, Gladstone, Warnertown the up to Port Augusta
Hi Johno let me know your next live. Thank you 🍺
Maybe this coming Sunday. 4pm eastern standard time.
Love watching your videos of your road train trips. Where do you find all the different songs you play in the back ground sometimes. Stay safe at work.
I use several music subscription services. I have to pay for the rights to use the music.
Believe it or not, John, I absolutely love watching simple videos exactly like this. I'll probably never get to ride in a truck in my lifetime, but this is the next best thing for me. It's like I'm riding shotgun with you, and I could sit here for hours on end just watching this actual driving footage. It may not be your cup of tea, which I respect and understand, but this suits me down to a tea. Thank you for sharing your experiences on the road with us. I really appreciate it. Take care, and may you have many more miles ahead of you. Cheers from the Gold Coast Australia 🇦🇺 🤙🏽
Awesome. Thanks heaps
Good one
Thanks Jonathan
Good one
Thanks Jonathan
I bet you weren't as easy going at 6 in the morning Johno!🤣. Couldn't blame you though! That looked a dream run. If only every trip was like it! I didn't mind the microphone where it was btw. Let's people realise the noises that a driver hears all day every day. Love the sound of the big girl! Just doesn't have the same note as my old R600 320 cool power with twin pipes 🤣 Keep up the good work mate 👍! Side note! You asked for suggestions on content! How about a bloopers reel? You surely would have a few?
Thanks Michael. A bloopers real would be great. I keep deleting that footage but I'll try to build up some now.
I remember the thrill i got from meeting Steve yogi and sludge
Yes it's great to meet people you see from tv
Dont you like via Broken Hill route to Sydney?
Yes. That's the way I go but I have to go via Gladstone.
You are doing well , getting late in Auckland off to sleep now
Sleep tight
I’ve just past my license again at the age 80 yrs class 5 or H C , which I had to renew by the 11/08/24
Well done. Very good
10 tonne
3 Ton
Great video would love to hear about Burra
Very good. I'll try to do that when I can
What about Boggabilla Jail in Brisbane, that’s open for viewing
Is there a jail in Boggabilla?
Sorry Johnno It's Bogga Road Gail in Brisbane which is now a Museum I understand
Oh OK. Thanks
Sound is top, Johnno. Thank you for another lovely piece of work. Maybe done easy, but every now and then you can absolutely enjoy this kind of video, too. 😃👏
Very good. Thanks Dirk
Operated roadtrains mid eighties to late nineties, prefered spicer to road ranger, especial on long grades pulling 3 trailers.drop down gear at flick and on /off accelerator.
One never used a Spicer so I can't comment on them.
@@RoadTrainAdventures back in eighties, most road Rangers were 13 speed compared to spicer 18 or 20 speed, spicer give you better range and closer ratio, drove western star set up with 3406 cat and 20 spicer.
I must say I prefer 18 speed over 13. I want more gears than such a big jump.
@@RoadTrainAdventuresthe road ranger and spicer was great leap ahead of quad box in mack and old Merc 2624 with there Joey box 5 speed, learnt on them you working all day driving them.
That sounds very good
My hat is off to these road train drivers what a tough job without them the assies would be staving
Thanks John. Yes we do a job that not everyone wants to do.
Great video mate! Your vids were what got me motivated to start taking a few of my own and share what we do. Keep up the great work! Ive seen you in WA a few times, will have to say gday next time i see you 👍🏽
Yeah for sure. If you see me around, sing out and let's catch up.
Aging a beer while watching this one ha ha. Traffic looked quiet for once, and the mic sounded good as well.
Thanks Brad. I got my good mike working again.
Johno, i’m a bit late catching up. Be safe on the road brother.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Better late than never though Raymond
@@RoadTrainAdventures Johno I’ve just been very busy brother
That's perfectly OK. It's great to have you along whenever you can make it.
I love the view of the hood. Thank you for your great videos. I wish you safe journeys. Unfortunately, I have been retired for 10 months. I miss driving a truck very much 😢 Stay safe my friend
I'll try to keep the memory alive for you.
@@RoadTrainAdventures thank you so much for your understanding. You are a great friend with a big heart. I have tears in my eyes. thank you so much 🥲❤️
Anytime. Do you have any requests for a story or video?
@@RoadTrainAdventures oh I will think, sure I have. Let me think about, later I'll tell you. Thank you very much 🙂
Sure
Nice and clear no interruption with the mic beautiful I hear you nice and loud
Very good. Thanks Joe
Hey guys, what speed are you allowed in Australia with a truck or a bus?
We are all speed limited to 100km/h
Hello Johnno, sound is brilliant. Well done on another great relaxing video, keep them coming.
Very good. Will do
Another great video keep them coming. 👍🏾👍🏾
Awesome. Thanks heaps
Welcome to the Gateway where your wallet is attacked.. People are speed worry being their are point to point cameras on those gantries so people panic with their speed not wanting to make the trip to quick to avoid a fine.. You travel the Gateway South side in the morning going Nth its chocker, then going Sth after 2.30pm then its a crawl, all the way and sometimes all the way to the Gold Coast... same on Northside from Nudgee to up the Bruce in the arvo from 2.00pm its chocker... Logan arvo east bound slow to Gateway.. That sharp bend has claimed several trucks,, When you depart going back sth, to the gateway the flyover ramp tight right has seen plenty of roll overs...We are forced to use the toll rd, , camera monitored Kessels Rd, on the road to Rocklea.. Ipswich rd, for people trying to skip the toll rd to Ipswich Rd and you are noticed driving through the area quickly I you have not stopped for delivery a little letter & fine arrives.. Make a stop for business and not zip through all good. Universal Cranes, Been their since time began.. When you are leaving Brisbane you notice on the Warrego Hwy, Bremer River Bridge Bundamba slow down 60kmh trucks left lane, speed camera on the right looks like a mini digger.. Outbound bridge is stuffed cracked steel beams. weight limits during the day, Night time over weight heavy moves have to use the inbound bridge, everything inbound stops on a red light & police and the dance begins escort checks inbound clear, then oversize goes wrong way up the Hwy over the good inbound bridge.. Get caught on that at night coming inbound and can be a 15 to 20min wait.. Brisbane ok off peak a pain in peak hour and we are thankful for air cond,
Otherwise Brisbane looks like a great place to live. Ha ha. It does look nice around the city. It's easy better than Sydney and easier to get around.
Great vid again mate. Can you explain to us your thoughts on the uhf CB connoisseur to the days of the old 27Mhz AM 40 channel with side band etc, and how you find the clarity of each, and especially the range. Oh, and the aerial setups required for both. Cheers, dd
UHF is so much clearer. The antenna is usually shorter too. 27meg is hardly used anymore.
It amazing how W.A service station got no service people, just big square fuel tanks, all you got to have is a big credit card,My partner told me about the service station when he went west.
Oh that place I filled up is a fuel only place. No people work there.
Nice work mate, sound is great and you can still hear that lovely rumble. Your are almost doing Slow TV 🙂
Awesome. Thanks Ray
Ive had mine for eight years and i cant imagine letting her go. How many kilometres would you do every year ?
At least 230 thousands
Great video Jonno, good sound quality. Brisbane is obviously a very busy place.
For sure and yes thanks I got the sound fixed.
Hey Johnno, doing my usual catching up lol. Seriously how can you leave a gap anymore, even with no gaps they jump in. We are all getting old buddy lol. Any idea when your heading back my way? Will have to try catch up
I left Brisbane yesterday heading to the yard then Perth so I'm not sure yet.
Many thanx John for one more wonderful video again. Stay safe 😃
Anytime
Hi. Was in Brisbane in 1981.
Howdy. I very rarely see you comment. Wow that was a while ago.
Gday Johnno, I don’t mind these type of videos when there’s something to listen to other than music. The difference with yours is that you talk all the way through them which makes it interesting, always want to hear what you have to say. Some other videos just play music while in fast motion which is fine too but or normally fast forward through those bits. Good job! Drive safe.
Thanks again. Yes variety is the key.
Isn't it funny different people's perspective. Coming from UK and Europe I find all Australian driving painfully slow. And Living in Queensland have always considered the standard of driving terrible, especially on freeways. No lane discipline. Try that in Germany. As to paranoid about speed, that is with just cause. In Queensland you can commit most crimes the police are not interested. They even refuse to take phone reports of crime. You have to fill out a form online and they may get back to you in 5 days. Or not as is usual. But all our roads are packed with police and speed cameras. I live in the middle of nowhere and have still been done for speeding at 4am with only me, the kangaroos and the copper on the road. Then you have to consider the fines. Qld I believe is the dearest State. $309, $464, $696 $1,161 $ 1,780, from less than 11K over and on. Bloody dear. And literally every time you go out you see loads of cameras or pass police cars with radar that turn around and pinch you. It is almost impossible to concentrate on driving focused on the speedo. And I don't have cruise control. Then they wonder why the road toll keeps rising despite the speed limits keep dropping. Queensland is one of the worst places to drive that I have come across, and I have driven in numerous countries around the world.
Thanks Dave. You sound like you've got a grasp on how police work here. Pretty shocking.
Hey Johnno, great to see, and hear, another interesting video. Hope you're keeping well. 👍🇬🇧
Thanks Bob. Yes I'm doing very well. I trust your going great too.
I see you try to cut off the complainers before they get started. I would pay them no attention as they may be the ones in the right lane holding folks up in their cars. Have good days!
Ha ha. Yes your probably right there.
I watch your videos in the am with my cup of coffee 😊 so enjoyable
Sounds like a nice way to start the day.
Love you videos Jonno. I've been driving up and down the Pacific highway now for close on 40 years (admittedly not in heavy vehicles) as my folks live in the Sunshine Coast and coming from Canberra the one thing that has really struck me over that length of time is how the traffic has become mega busy year after year from the Tweed right through to Noosa since the 80's. Maybe it's us Southerners moving to the better climate (compared to my home town of Canberra every other coastal place is utter tropics!)
Yes Steven there are more and more if yes people on the road.
G'day from Mt Isa. Woh about your thoughts on inconsistant Road Rules from state to state. What is your prefered time to drive (general driving not in big trafic) ?
In a early to bed and early to rise person so normally I don't drive late into the night. The road rules are primarily there for safety but work very well in for raising revenue. They work very close together.
audio is great, from gatton and dinmore the next one is up at burpengary Northbound
Thanks heaps. It's good to get it right
Love the channel. How long have you had that truck and how many kilometres has she travelled? Cheers. Keep the awesome videos coming 👍
Thanks Troy. I've had this truck for 3 years and it's travelled 2.3 million kilometres now.
Amazing. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the reply. I'll continue enjoying the channel 👍😀
Maybe it time for a new one. Never 😂
Yes one day.
21:20 nothing like slamming on the brakes when there's a perfectly good hill to slow you down...
Yes
